What this site is

National Historical Register is a privately run reference built from public records: the National Park Service listing database and GIS, the nomination documents held by the National Archives, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons. We summarise the nomination documents with a language model, label that clearly, and link every summary to its source.

What it is not: an official register, a registration service or a plaque seller. Nothing here is affiliated with the National Park Service or any State Historic Preservation Office. Why we are not a government site · Editorial policy · Data sources.

JSON API and llms.txt for developers and agents.
