The small family burying ground has representative nineteenth-century funerary art. Together, in their rural setting, they recall the area's early settlement and land development patterns.","narrative":"Set on the highest point of a ridge above the Hudson River, this property in Coeymans, Albany County, combines a frame farmhouse and a small family burying ground. The house was built around 1825, probably by Barent Mull, and rises two and one-half stories under a gambrel roof, with a symmetrical five-bay front and a Federal-style central entrance with a diamond-paneled door. Inside, a center hall divides a traditional plan, and wide plank floors, architraves, a mantel and original doors survive. A rear wing with a large cooking hearth may be an earlier settlement dwelling from the late eighteenth century. Across a ravine lies the Mull family cemetery, with about twelve markers naming the Mull, Selkirk and Slingerland families, several with finely carved inscriptions. The property was listed for its architecture and funerary art. The house is a well-preserved local example of late Federal design, and together with the cemetery and the largely undeveloped setting it recalls the area's early settlement. A ca. 1890 barn also contributes.","period_of_significance":"ca. 1825 - ca. 1890","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Early Republic/Federal","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"The house is still used as a single dwelling and the cemetery remains in funerary use; the form describes the house as largely unchanged since construction.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:51:51.143604-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/99000871.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/99000871/0b449fd00e-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/99000871/0b449fd00e-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Kent M.
