The builder is unknown; the Henry H. Ziller family owned it from 1881 to 1939.","why_significant":"The house is significant under Criterion C in the area of Architecture at the local level for its intact Eastlake architectural details. Its stylistic development parallels the Ziller family's growing prosperity in the 1880s and 1890s. A 1993 restoration returned it to its 1890s appearance.","narrative":"Standing on a hilltop west of downtown Austin, this one-story wood frame house at 1110 Blanco Street was built around 1881 with a central hall plan and hipped roof. Henry H. Ziller, a city tax assessor and collector, bought the property in 1881, and his family owned it until 1939. Around 1891 the house was extended and given Eastlake features, including two balconies, a wraparound porch, turned posts, sunburst brackets and perforated panels, much of it resembling ornament available from local mills or mail-order catalogs. Original white oak floors, transom windows and a pressed metal ceiling survive inside. A 1993 restoration removed 1920s-30s additions, reopened the enclosed porch and balcony, and added a compatible bedroom wing. The house was listed for its intact Eastlake detailing and its record of how Victorian residential design developed in Austin between the 1880s and 1890s. It remains a single-family home.","period_of_significance":"c.1881; c.1891","architect_builder":"unknown","architectural_style":"Late Victorian: Eastlake","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Currently used as a single dwelling; restored in 1993, with a compatible bedroom addition and non-contributing garage and storage shed.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:24.020738-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/28/9736/40973628/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/98000449.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/98000449/a30a0de790-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/98000449/a30a0de790-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY 4.0","author":"Larry D.
