It contains houses built mainly between 1868 and 1918.","why_significant":"The district is argued to be significant for architecture and social history as a largely intact, single-family neighborhood from before the end of World War I. It holds a wide range of Victorian and early 20th-century styles alongside vernacular house types. Many major buildings, often at corners, retain their original design and fabric.","narrative":"This residential district lies just south of downtown Napa, between Fuller Park and the Napa River. The eastern blocks were part of Napa Abajo, the city's first subdivision, and the western blocks come from three tracts added a few years later. Of the 362 residential buildings facing streets, 249 contribute to its historic character. Houses range from mansions with twenty or more rooms to two-room shotgun and hall-and-parlor dwellings. Stick/Eastlake, Italianate and Queen Anne are the most common nineteenth-century styles, while Colonial Revival and Craftsman dominate the twentieth century. Fuller Park, established in 1905, and a double row of redwoods planted in the 1890s also contribute. Seven houses were already individually listed, including the Manasse Mansion, built in 1886 and designed by William H. Corlett. The district was listed for architecture and social history, covering 1868 to 1918. Its integrity rests on mature street trees, front and side yards, mostly residential use and the retention of original fabric.","period_of_significance":"1868-1918","architect_builder":"Turton, Luther M.; Corlett, William H.","architectural_style":"Late Victorian: Stick/Eastlake; Colonial Revival; Bungalow/Craftsman","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Still largely in residential use as single dwellings, multiple dwellings and secondary structures; integrity described as high.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:27.860066-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_CA/97000042.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/97000042/c78327d0d2-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/97000042/c78327d0d2-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Xavora2","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Fuller_Park_and_historic_homes.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">Xavora2</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Fuller_Park_and_historic_homes.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/123860058","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q141641081"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/california/napa-county/napa-abajo-fuller-park-historic-district-97000042/"}
