It keeps its semi-octagonal bay windows, bracketed eaves, spindled porch and historic interior plan.","narrative":"This two-story frame double house on East Cayuga Street in Moravia sits a short distance east of the Main Street business district, on a residential street lined with nineteenth-century houses. A house has stood on the lot since at least 1859, and by 1885 it had a four-bay facade and flat roof, suggesting Italianate origins. Between 1898 and 1908 Sarah S. Raymond remodelled it, adding bay windows, raising the rear to two stories and extending the additions eastward. Notable features include two semi-octagonal bay windows, a low-pitched hipped roof, wide bracketed eaves, and a front porch with turned spindles sheltering two front doors. Side porches combine Italianate brackets with Queen Anne jigsaw trim. The interior keeps its historic plan and finishes, though the rear wings were heavily altered. It was listed for architecture as the most intact turn-of-the-century duplex in the village and a representative Italianate residence from the post-Civil War period. A later garage is noncontributing.","period_of_significance":"ca. 1900","architect_builder":"Unknown","architectural_style":"Late Victorian: Italianate","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Historic and current function is multiple dwelling; rear wings have been altered extensively, while the interior retains its historic floor plan and finishes.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:51:50.056121-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/95000472.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/95000472/f02fe3997b-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/95000472/f02fe3997b-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"Doncram","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_15_East_Cayuga_Street,_Moravia,_New_York_21_34_49_938000.jpeg\" rel=\"noopener\">Doncram</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_15_East_Cayuga_Street,_Moravia,_New_York_21_34_49_938000.jpeg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75312190","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_at_15_East_Cayuga_Street","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5913967"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/cayuga-county/house-at-15-east-cayuga-street-95000472/"}
