It conveys the style through material, color and crafted detail, especially cast stone made by its original owner, a concrete and cast stone businessman. It is nearly unaltered and retains its historic character and integrity.","narrative":"Built about 1912 at 4503 Reiger Avenue in East Dallas, this one-story house is a modest but distinctive example of Mission Revival architecture. Its brick-veneered frame walls, low gable roof and shaped parapets are accented by cast stone porch columns, balustrade, coping and Prairie School influenced planters. Inside, original features include scagliola columns cast by the first owner, a concrete fireplace set with marble chips, and terra cotta tile floors in the kitchen and back porch. Didaco Bianchi, an Italian immigrant who co-founded a cement stone company in Dallas, probably designed or oversaw the house, which was drawn by the architects Lang and Witchell. Most Mission Revival buildings in East and South Dallas stand in wealthier neighborhoods and are larger, so this small house is unusual in its surroundings. It was listed for its architecture, since it remains virtually unaltered and keeps its historic character to a remarkable degree.","period_of_significance":"1912","architect_builder":"Lang & Witchell (architects, Dallas)","architectural_style":"Late 19th and Early 20th Century Revivals: Mission Revival","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Described as in good condition and virtually unchanged since 1912; still used as a single dwelling.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:23.404064-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/68/9686/40968668/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/95000311.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/95000311/8164cfe5fc-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/95000311/8164cfe5fc-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Renelibrary","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bianchi_House.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">Renelibrary</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bianchi_House.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40968668","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110000919"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/dallas-county/bianchi-didaco-and-ida-house-95000311/"}
