A carved stone lintel marks the center entrance, and a plaque in the gable reads \"District No. 3, 1874.\" Inside, the original single-room plan survives with plaster walls, beaded wainscoting and plank floors. The building was listed for its architecture, as a well-preserved regional example of an Italianate-inspired schoolhouse.
