It is also tied to Benjamin F. Bulloch, co-founder of Bullochville (now Warm Springs), who helped establish the first store, plan the town and donate land for community uses. It was his home and remained in his family until 1990.","narrative":"Built in 1893 on Spring Street, this one-and-one-half story frame cottage was the home of Benjamin F. Bulloch, a co-founder of Bullochville, the community now known as Warm Springs, Georgia. Its hipped roof with lower cross gables, central turret, fishscale shingles, bargeboard, corbeled brick chimney and wraparound porch with grouped columns mark it as an excellent example of Queen Anne design. Its square central mass and central hall also make it an early example of the New South Cottage type. Inside, original mantels, pocket doors, turned stair balusters, wainscoting and hardwood floors survive. Bulloch and his partners ran a general store beside the railroad, laid out the town and donated land for schools, churches, a cemetery and a fish hatchery. His house began the town's residential growth and stayed in his family until 1990. A certified rehabilitation in 1992 adapted it to commercial use, adding a rear banquet room.","period_of_significance":"1893-1910","architect_builder":"Render Lewis Crowder","architectural_style":"Late Victorian: Queen Anne (New South Cottage type)","criteria":["A","B","C"],"status_note":"Rehabilitated for commercial use in 1992 and now used as a restaurant/specialty store, with a rear banquet room addition and parking lot.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:55:43.533945-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_GA/94000524.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/93208949","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":null},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/georgia/meriwether-county/bulloch-benjamin-f-house-94000524/"}
