Inside, the front and rear parlors keep their original woodwork, with reeded corner blocks, a geometric mantel and a chimney cupboard, and the wooden floors are original. Later changes, mostly dating to about 1900, were concentrated in the rear kitchen ell, which gained a full second story and gable roof. Restoration in the early 1990s removed many of these alterations and rebuilt the chimneys and roof. The house is regarded as an outstanding example of its type in northern Adams County, where few brick farmhouses of this period survive.
