It is larger and more richly detailed than typical bungalows, with stained glass, fine woodwork and an inglenook fireplace. It also shows Prairie and Craftsman design influences and retains excellent integrity.","narrative":"This 1927 Chicago bungalow at 416 North 4th Avenue in Maywood, Illinois, sits on a corner lot in the original Maywood Company section of the village, near Queen Anne and Prairie houses. It is a long, narrow building of yellow face brick, 1-1/2 stories over a raised basement, with a green tile gable roof, broad overhangs and a rounded bay. Inside, casement windows hold intricate geometric stained glass, and dark wood trim and paneled dining room wainscoting set the tone. The living room has egg-and-dart ceiling moldings and a brick and tile fireplace in an inglenook with built-in benches. Although typical of the thousands of bungalows built in the 1920s, this one is larger, on a more prominent lot, and more richly detailed. Its simplified, geometric design reflects Prairie and Craftsman influences. The house was listed for architectural significance as the finest and best preserved example of its type in Maywood. The floor plan and detailing remain original.","period_of_significance":"1927","architect_builder":"Unknown","architectural_style":"Late 19th Century and Early 20th Century American Movements: Chicago Bungalow","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Described as in pristine condition with excellent integrity and still used as a single dwelling; the only change noted is glass brick infill in the basement windows.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:55:35.171566-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/3/8908/28890803/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_IL/92000047.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/92000047/0b9bd9a367-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/92000047/0b9bd9a367-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Thshriver","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lynch,_Timothy_J_House_2.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">Thshriver</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lynch,_Timothy_J_House_2.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/28890803","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_J._Lynch_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q104849132"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/illinois/cook-county/lynch-timothy-j-house-92000047/"}
