It also reflects mill village planning and shows a local blend of Greek Revival and Gothic Revival styling. The barns are good examples of a rural building type.","narrative":"Built in 1859 on Stratford Road near Delaware, Ohio, this 2-1/2 story frame house combines Greek Revival and Gothic Revival details. The entrance has a transom and sidelights framed by wood pilasters, the windows are 6/6, and the steep front gable and wood hoodmolds add Gothic character. A 1-1/2 story addition was made on the south side. Two limestone-based raised basement barns survive on the farm. Norman Dewey Perry built the property for his growing family. He had worked his way up from machine tender to superintendent and part owner of the Stratford paper mill. He lived here until the early 1870s, when he sold the farm after a failed paper store venture in Columbus. The house is linked to the steam-powered milling era and to the Stratford mill village platted by the mill owners. Because the paper mills no longer stand, it is the only property in the area associated with Perry. The house and barns are also good examples of rural building types of the region.","period_of_significance":"1859-1872","architect_builder":"Norman Dewey Perry (builder); architect unknown","architectural_style":"Greek Revival/Gothic Revival","criteria":["A","B","C"],"status_note":"Still used as a single dwelling; the form says the house retains its original frame walls, gabled roof profile and fenestration pattern.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:14.713386-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/91001429.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71984745","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":null},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/delaware-county/perry-norman-dewey-house-91001429/"}
