Munger of Britsch & Munger.","why_significant":"The nomination argues it is a very good example of Colonial Revival architecture in Perrysburg and one of only a few surviving examples of civic architecture there. Its scale, materials and detailing blend with the town's residential character. It is unaltered, well preserved and still serves its original function as a memorial meeting hall.","narrative":"Completed in 1931 at 130 West Indiana Street, this brick meeting hall in Perrysburg, Ohio, was built as a memorial to local soldiers, sailors and marines. Frederick Schaller left a bequest of about $6,000 in gold coins, Liberty Bonds and cash for the purpose, and residents raised another $12,000 to build the hall. It was dedicated on Memorial Day, 1931, and has housed the local American Legion Post since. Harold H. Munger of Britsch & Munger designed the T-shaped Colonial Revival building. Its symmetrical seven-bay facade has a central two-story block, single-story wings, a recessed portico with four Doric columns and three gabled dormers. A lobby, offices and a rear meeting hall make up the interior. Perrysburg has lost most of its earlier civic buildings, including two courthouses and the Way Library. This building survives with no additions or significant alterations, and its scale and landscaped setback give it a residential character.","period_of_significance":"1931","architect_builder":"Harold H.
