It is also a very well-preserved example of the simplified, locally popular Queen Anne three-decker. It meets criteria A and C at the local level.","narrative":"Seven Stanton Street in Worcester is a three-decker house built around 1908 in the Queen Anne style. It has a hip roof, a side-hall plan and an asymmetrical front facade with a three-tier porch beside a shallow three-story bay window. Lathe-turned posts with heavy brackets support the porch, and the walls are wood clapboard with shingle bands between stories on the bays. Bracketed cornice eaves and 2/1 windows complete the exterior. It represents the modest, simplified Queen Anne three-deckers popular in the first decade of the twentieth century. The house stood in the eastern part of a working-class neighborhood along Belmont Street, home mostly to families of Swedish, Finn-Swede and Finnish background, many employed as skilled metalworkers. Its first owner, Paul Johnson, was a patternmaker. Early tenants included a machinist and a draughtsman, and later residents included machinists, an electrician and a carpenter. The building was listed for its link to this neighborhood and for its well-preserved design.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Queen Anne","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Condition described as very good; present use is residential, the same as its original use.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:13:03.675733-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/93/7933/63793393/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/89002437.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89002437/2e553c779a-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89002437/2e553c779a-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Pvmoutside","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Paul_Johnson_3_Decker_Worcester_MA.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Pvmoutside</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Paul_Johnson_3_Decker_Worcester_MA.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63793393","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Johnson_Three-Decker","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7151615"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/worcester-county/johnson-paul-three-decker-89002437/"}
