It is also an unusually well-preserved and well-detailed example of Colonial Revival details in three-decker construction. It meets criteria A and C at the local level.","narrative":"Built around 1912 at 14 Harlow Street in Worcester, this three-decker was part of the northern Lincoln Street area as it grew into a modestly fashionable, middle-class streetcar suburb. Many residents commuted to downtown jobs in white-collar or skilled blue-collar work. The first owner, Anthony Massad, ran the Exchange Hotel downtown. Early tenants included a meter reader, a linotyper, a clerk and a dry goods buyer. The house has a side-hall plan, wood clapboard siding with shingle bands between stories, and a hip roof with modillion blocks in the cornice. Its recessed three-tier porch has Tuscan columns and double arched openings with keystones and central pendants, beside a three-story bay window. The entry door has a full-length elliptical light. The building survives with no major alterations and is very well preserved. It was listed for its representative role in the neighborhood's development and for its well-detailed Colonial Revival design, under criteria A and C at the local level.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Colonial Revival Three-Decker","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Recorded as in very good condition, with no major alterations and in residential use.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:12:59.866298-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/83/7932/63793283/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/89002380.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89002380/d9344d1b7f-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89002380/d9344d1b7f-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"User:Magicpiano","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WorcesterMA_AnthonyMassadThreeDecker.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">User:Magicpiano</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WorcesterMA_AnthonyMassadThreeDecker.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63793283","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Massad_Three-Decker","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4773039"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/worcester-county/massad-anthony-three-decker-89002380/"}
