Kuntz of Pittsburgh, one of at least 18 armories he designed, and the nomination states it retains very good integrity.","narrative":"Built in 1930 for Company C, 112th Infantry of the Pennsylvania National Guard, the Ford City Armory is a one-story brick building on a flat corner lot in Ford City, Armstrong County. Its T-plan arrangement places the drill hall beside the administration section, and its asphalt-shingled hip roof rises over the drill hall and flattens over the offices. Two double-door entrances with transoms face both Tenth Street and Third Avenue, and a central metal garage door on the Third Avenue side opens onto the drill floor. The drill hall floor is Western Fir, and the interior includes a rifle range, a locker room, a classroom and offices. Designed by Joseph F. Kuntz of Pittsburgh, it is one of at least 18 armories he designed, and it is significant as a representative example of the state armory building type. The exterior remains largely unaltered apart from replaced doors.","period_of_significance":"1930-1939","architect_builder":"Joseph F.
