The farmhouse is a distinctive one-and-one-half story gable-ell Greek Revival house, and is described as the only intact brick Greek Revival residence in the Hounsfield hinterland. The surviving barns and outbuildings illustrate changing nineteenth century farming practices.","narrative":"Along Parker Road, east of the hamlet of Camps Mills in Hounsfield, stands a farmstead built around 1840 by the Resseguie family. Its brick farmhouse is a one-and-one-half story gable-ell with Greek Revival details, including a trabeated entrance with sidelights and transom, cornice returns and large limestone slab steps. Brick was unusual for farmhouses outside Sackets Harbor, and this is described as the only intact brick Greek Revival residence in the town's rural interior. Nearby are a timber-frame cattle barn, granary, pig house, chicken coop and a former carriage house across the road, all dating from about 1840 to 1850. Samuel Resseguie settled in the area in 1822, and his family raised grains, sheep and later more cattle. The farm later passed to the Parker family, then out of the family in the 1960s. About 20 of the original 200 acres are included, and the complex illustrates nineteenth century farming and rural life in the North Country.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Farmhouse condition rated good; the farm was abandoned sometime after 1981 and put up for sale. Original 200 acres were subdivided in 1986, leaving about 20 acres in the nomination.","vacant_flag":true,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:50:45.881269-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/89001622.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75313200","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ressequie_Farm","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7316024"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/jefferson-county/ressequie-farm-89001622/"}
