It is also tied to Henry N. Fisher, a watch company foreman, bank president and mayor of Waltham.","narrative":"Built between 1881 and 1886 at 120 Crescent Street in Waltham, this Queen Anne house sits on a large corner lot with a well-kept side lawn. Its irregular plan, octagonal bay and gable roof with return eaves are joined by an encircling verandah with turned posts, Chinese lattice railings, spool work transom and a sunburst motif at the porch pediment. Inside are marble fireplaces, cornice moldings and fine woodwork, including parlor doors that may be tiger maple. A one-story bow-front dining room was added in the early 1900s. The house was the home of Henry N. Fisher, born in New Hampshire in 1844, a Civil War veteran wounded in 1862, foreman at the American Watch Co., bank president and four-term mayor of Waltham from 1885 to 1889. The property also reflects the growth of Waltham's South Side, laid out by the Waltham Improvement Co., where Crescent Street filled with houses of watch company executives and foremen.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Queen Anne","criteria":["A","B","C"],"status_note":"Condition described as excellent; present use is a private residence.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:12:59.808495-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/64/7922/63792264/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/89001577.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89001577/e8cb5c8e38-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89001577/e8cb5c8e38-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"User:Magicpiano","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Waltham_MA_Henry_N_Fisher_House.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">User:Magicpiano</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Waltham_MA_Henry_N_Fisher_House.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63792264","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_N._Fisher_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5726211"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/middlesex-county/fisher-henry-n-house-89001577/"}
