Its main facade has a combined verandah and porte cochere with Tuscan columns and tongue-and-groove ceiling woodwork, and colorful stained glass transoms light the second floor. The rear wall has a conically capped circular corner tower and a projecting two-story bay, while steeply pitched gables with deep eaves give a vaguely medieval look. A hip-roofed, cupola-topped stable survives on the east side of the property. The house retains its original form, materials, lot and carriage house, and is ranked among the finest Queen Anne buildings in the city. It was long the home of Nathan A. Warren (1838-1926), a Civil War veteran, state legislator, insurance executive and local historian who helped guide the Waltham Public Library. He died in the house.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Queen Anne","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Present use is a private residence; condition is rated good to excellent, with no major alterations recorded.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:13:05.03201-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/90/7911/63791190/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/89001520.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89001520/9ebc799f5c-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89001520/9ebc799f5c-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Unknown authorUnknown author","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:NathanWarrenHouse.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Unknown authorUnknown author</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:NathanWarrenHouse.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63791190","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Warren_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q6969400"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/middlesex-county/warren-nathan-house-89001520/"}
