It also reflects the development of Quincy's residential subdivisions in the first two decades of the 1900s. It meets Criteria A and C at the local level.","narrative":"Built in 1908, this small Craftsman Bungalow on Gilmore Street in Quincy's Wollaston neighborhood was erected by its owner, Albert Nelson, a well-known local contractor who developed the entire Gilmore Street block. He sold the house the next year to Thomas L. Gammon, a division superintendent of the Quincy Center Street Railway Company, whose family lived there until after 1923. The house sits on a granite foundation and is sheathed in wood shingles. Its gable is filled with stucco and strap-work recalling Craftsman revealed construction, and the porch is formed by an extension of the gable, with thick square posts on granite piers. The symmetrical facade has a door with a long oval pane and two large windows with leaded transoms. The house is valued as a well-preserved example of its type and as evidence of the suburban growth that followed the railroad and street railway, when modest houses filled Wollaston in the early twentieth century.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Albert Nelson (owner/builder); architect unknown","architectural_style":"Craftsman Bungalow","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Recorded as in good condition, with no major alterations, no outbuildings, and not moved; in use as a single-family dwelling.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:13:01.583394-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/56/7925/63792556/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/89001336.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89001336/c8c3079730-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/89001336/c8c3079730-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Jameslwoodward","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_15_Gilmore_Street_Quincy_MA_01.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Jameslwoodward</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_15_Gilmore_Street_Quincy_MA_01.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63792556","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_at_15_Gilmore_Street","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5913970"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/norfolk-county/house-at-15-gilmore-street-89001336/"}
