It remains a dwelling. A slightly asymmetrical five-bay facade is centered on a double-leaf entry beneath a flat-roofed porch with a decorative valance. Three steeply pitched gabled wall dormers sit on the roof, and sawn vergeboards with acorns at the peaks highlight the dormers and side gables. A squat mansard tower and a mansard addition, added around the 1870s, rise from the rear. The house is regarded as an unusual local example of Gothic Revival design and resembles period cottages in Newton and the Abijah Thompson House. Little is known of its early history. George D. Moore, a carpenter and builder, lived here with Frances and Abbie Moore from 1865 to 1931 and may have built it. The house also reflects early residential growth east of the town center.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"George D.
