It is a simple, boxy Colonial Revival design faced in red brick, with a hipped roof and hipped dormers. A small one-story entry porch has a full entablature and cornice carried on two pairs of Ionic columns, and the doorway has an elliptical fanlight and sidelights. A hipped porte cochere, also supported by Ionic columns, sits on one side, with a small masonry addition on the other. Windows are double hung with decorative muntins in the upper sashes, and unusual patterned window screens survive. Brick houses were uncommon in the city when it was built, and its classical features are well proportioned, which is the basis for its local architectural significance. The house remains on its original site in a historic neighborhood and is in good condition.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Colonial Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Physical condition is described as good, and the site is original, in a historic neighborhood.","vacant_flag":null,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:21.670594-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/57/9701/40970157/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/88002597.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/88002597/995acea1ff-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/88002597/995acea1ff-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"Michael Barera","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:San_Angelo_September_2019_74_(Collyns_House).jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Michael Barera</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:San_Angelo_September_2019_74_(Collyns_House).jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40970157","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q107330897"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/tom-green-county/collyns-house-88002597/"}
