It also reuses stone salvaged from the 1885 Tom Green County courthouse. John G. Becker designed it and H.F. Templeton built it. Its cruciform plan includes a stepped corner tower, a narrow narthex flanked by buttresses, a steeply pitched flat-tile roof and parapeted stone gables topped by crosses. A Gothic arched cast stone entry sits beneath a stained glass rose window, and finely crafted stained glass lancet windows light the nave, tower and gable ends. Stone from the 1885 Tom Green County courthouse, demolished in 1927, was reused in construction, and the courthouse bell was given to the church. Becker's design was selected over a proposal by El Paso architect Henry Trost. An education wing from the late 1950s and a later flat-roofed addition with a short corner tower follow the original character. The church was listed for its architectural merit as an exceptional eclectic Gothic example with good integrity.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Architect: John G.
