It is in good condition and largely unaltered from the original. The reviewer accepted it as a significant Colonial Revival cottage from the first decade of the 20th century.","narrative":"This small frame cottage at 405 Preusser in San Angelo was built between about 1904 and 1908, on lots in the Frary Addition. It rises a story and a half under a hip and gable roof. A porch across the front follows the irregular floor plan and is supported by Tuscan columns without a balustrade. The walls are tongue and groove clapboard, with fishscale shingles in the gables. Windows are double hung, either one-over-one or diamond pane over one, set in wide casing. The architect and builder are unknown. The house was listed for its architecture, as a well-preserved Colonial Revival cottage from a period when San Angelo was growing as a center of the livestock and wool trade. It remains in good condition and is largely unchanged from its original form. Early directories show Earl Hudson, who may have been a haberdasher, living there in 1910, and A.H. Moore in 1914. It sits in a residential neighborhood.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Colonial Revival","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Physical condition good; generally unaltered from the original and on its original site.","vacant_flag":null,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:21.784759-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/55/9701/40970155/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/88002586.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/88002586/f6c04beb9f-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/88002586/f6c04beb9f-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"25or6to4","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_405_Preusser,_San_Angelo,_TX.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">25or6to4</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_405_Preusser,_San_Angelo,_TX.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40970155","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110000819"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/tom-green-county/house-at-405-preusser-88002586/"}
