It has weatherboard siding, a gable roof with composition shingles, and wood double-hung windows with two-over-two lights. A five-bay porch is inset across the south elevation, with box columns, molded caps and squared-wood balusters. Twin gabled dormers and kicked eaves in the gable ends add detail. The main entrance has a transom and sidelights. Rear additions of board-and-batten siding date from 1939. The house was moved to its present corner at French and McLeod streets, in a residential area northeast of the central business district. It was recognized as one of Cuero's finest examples of a center-passage house with an inset porch, a common local type here, and its classical proportions are described as typical of Greek Revival houses in Texas. The Marie family owned it until 1939. It remains in residential use and in good condition.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Center-passage dwelling","criteria":[],"status_note":"Condition listed as good; used as a residence; 1939 additions to the rear.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:20.974429-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/76/9687/40968776/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/88001959.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/88001959/9630301460-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/88001959/9630301460-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"25or6to4","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Frank_Marie_House,_Cuero,_Texas.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">25or6to4</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Frank_Marie_House,_Cuero,_Texas.JPG"},"district":{"nrhp_refnum":"88001997","name":"Terrell-Reuss Streets Historic District","url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/districts/texas/terrell-reuss-streets-historic-district-88001997/"},"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40968776","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110001902"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/dewitt-county/marie-frank-house-88001959/"}
