It was built in 1910.","why_significant":"The nomination argues the bridge is a good example of a twentieth century multiple span stone arch bridge built in the style of the region's nineteenth century bridges. Its overall configuration and arch length imitate earlier bridges, and the form notes its excellent integrity as a fine example of the continuing 19th century multi-span stone tradition in Montgomery County. The area of significance is engineering.","narrative":"Built in 1910 by a contractor named M. Smith, the Sutch Road Bridge carries Sutch Road over Unami Creek in rural woodland in Marlborough Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It has three arches of coursed, roughly squared ashlar masonry and spans about 76 feet overall, on a deck roughly 125 feet long by 25 feet wide. Its arch configuration and arch length follow the multiple span stone bridges built in the region during the nineteenth century, which is the main reason it is regarded as a good example of that tradition in the twentieth century. The only notable departure from earlier work is the rough stone cap on the parapet wall, a twentieth century treatment. The bridge retains its original form and is considered to have excellent integrity. It was listed in the National Register for its engineering significance as a continuation of stone arch construction in Montgomery County.","period_of_significance":"1910","architect_builder":"M.
