It is described as the last surviving Sebring family house. It is also an imposing local example of Colonial Revival architecture, with a large two-story porch, classical columns and a stained glass skylight over the central hall.","narrative":"Built around 1901 on West Ohio Avenue in Sebring, Ohio, this two-story red pressed brick house is a large Colonial Revival residence with stone quoins, a hipped roof and a two-story porch carried on Corinthian columns. Inside, a great central hall rises to a domed stained glass skylight, and the rooms contain mahogany, rosewood, oak and walnut woodwork. The house was the home of Frank A. Sebring (1865-1936), one of eight siblings who founded the town in 1898 and built its pottery industry. By 1915 Sebring had 3,500 residents and was the state's second most important pottery center. Frank Sebring served as president of the Limoges China Co. and as first president of the local building and loan association. F. D. Shewell is believed to have built the house. It is described as the last surviving Sebring house. Later changes include a replaced roof, removed railings and attic apartments added in the 1950s.","period_of_significance":"1900-","architect_builder":"F. D.
