Page, with brick lower floor, wood upper floors and a square tower. Rear wings were added about 1909 and about 1925.","why_significant":"The house is tied to Thomas C. Page, a leading Chicopee industrialist in textile, machine tool and bicycle manufacturing, and later to the Belcher Lodge of Masons, who bought it in 1909. It is also a remarkably intact and early example of the Queen Anne/Stick Style in a city with few Stick Style buildings, with a tower, varied materials and high-quality interior finishes.","narrative":"Built around 1875 at 105 East Street in Chicopee Falls, this three-story house combines a brick first floor with wood upper stories, stickwork, fishscale shingles, terra cotta panels and a square tower with a pyramidal roof. It was built for Thomas C. Page, who came to Chicopee in 1867 and ran the Lamb Knitting Machine Company, which later turned to bicycle production. Page also helped found the Belcher Lodge of Masons, and in 1909 he sold the house to the lodge while continuing to live in the front part. The Masons added an eastern wing for meetings and social events, and a smaller western wing followed around 1925. Inside, original woodwork, fireplaces, stained glass, a banquet room and a lodge hall survive largely intact. The house is regarded as one of the finest examples of its style in Chicopee and as a reminder of the city's industrial growth. It is currently vacant. No architect or builder is known.","period_of_significance":"1875-1937","architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Queen Anne (Queen Anne/Stick Style)","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"Listed current function is vacant/not in use; interior and exterior are described as little changed and in fairly good condition, with landscaping neglected.","vacant_flag":true,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:13:01.516423-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/91/7952/63795291/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/87001782.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/87001782/2f5f16cec2-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/87001782/2f5f16cec2-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"User:Magicpiano","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:ChicopeeMA_ThomasDPageHouse.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">User:Magicpiano</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:ChicopeeMA_ThomasDPageHouse.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63795291","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_D._Page_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7788795"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/hampden-county/page-thomas-d-house-87001782/"}
