The final form cites criterion C.","narrative":"Standing at the corner of Main and Camp Streets in Hyannis, this 1½-story Cape cottage dates to about 1775, based on tradition and style. It has a full five-bay facade, a gable roof, shingle siding, a center entry with a narrow transom, and 6/6 sash windows, all typical of Federal period houses. An early ell extends to the rear, and a one-story wing was added to the west side in 1974. The central chimney has been removed at an unknown date. The house sits at the east end of the Main Street commercial district and is still used as a dwelling. Seth Hallett, who served as town selectman for several years in the mid-19th century, lived here. Later owners included the partnership of Crowell and Hallett in 1880 and Mrs. A. Snow in 1907. It was listed as a well-preserved Federal period example and one of the few period buildings remaining intact on Main Street in Hyannis.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Federal","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Condition described as good; currently used as a dwelling.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:13:01.736525-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/46/7890/63789046/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/87000298.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/87000298/1225d5e1d7-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/87000298/1225d5e1d7-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 2.0","author":"Thomas Kelley","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Seth_Hallett_House,_Barnstable,_Massachusetts.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Thomas Kelley</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 2.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Seth_Hallett_House,_Barnstable,_Massachusetts.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63789046","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seth_Hallett_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7456496"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/barnstable-county/hallett-seth-house-87000298/"}
