It sits in a 19th-century residential cluster at the Sea and Gosnold Street intersection. The gable end faces the street in three bays and carries a bracketed cornice, paneled corner boards, a heavy bracketed entry hood with a flanking bracketed bay window, a round-arched gable window, and thinly projecting lintels over two-over-two sash windows. The barn has a cupola rising from the center of its gable roof. The house is described as one of the finest unaltered Italianate buildings in Hyannis, with no major alterations recorded and its condition rated excellent. It is also tied to Captain Alexander Crocker (1843-1890), son of Deacon Timothy Crocker, who commanded deep-water and coasting vessels including the schooners New York, Bay State and Western Starr, the barques Sara Hobert and Alice, and the yacht Rambler.
