It also calls it an outstanding example of eclectic Queen Anne architecture in Columbus (Criterion C), notable for its emphasis on classical detail.","narrative":"This three-story brick house at 1074 East Broad Street in Columbus dates from about the 1890s. It has a symmetrical facade with round turrets flanking an ornamental gable, a slate roof, a one-story porch with modified Doric columns, and a cornice decorated with modillions, swags and miniature dentils. A round arch of four brick header rows frames the front door. A carriage house of similar style stands at the rear, and the nomination says it adds to the property's integrity. East Broad Street was then a tree-lined boulevard and the main east-west route through Columbus, lined with many of the city's finest houses. The house was listed under two criteria: as a representative of the area's major residential development around 1900, and as an outstanding eclectic Queen Anne design. Among textured-masonry Queen Anne houses on the street, it is described as the only one emphasizing classical influence. S.G. Prentiss, an assistant cashier at a bank, owned it from 1910 to 1914.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Queen Anne, eclectic with classical influences","criteria":["A","C"],"status_note":"The inventory sheet lists present use as vacant, with exterior facade in good condition and interior in fair condition; it is noted as endangered and for sale.","vacant_flag":true,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:15.153949-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/86003413.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/86003413/350c36cbb4-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/86003413/350c36cbb4-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Nyttend","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Prentiss-Tulford_House_site.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Nyttend</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Prentiss-Tulford_House_site.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71985216","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prentiss-Tulford_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q105082040"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/franklin-county/prentiss-tulford-house-86003413/"}
