It has weatherboard siding, a dual-pitch gable roof with box eaves, and wood double-hung windows with six-over-six lights. A symmetrical five-bay south facade has a centered entry and an inset porch with wood posts, molded capitals and squared balusters, along with some Greek Revival detailing. The house originally stood at the corner of Santa Rosa and Navarro streets. Steve Fimbel owned it before grocer Max Bettin bought it in 1897. Bettin built a new residence on the original site and moved this house to 604 East Santa Rosa, around 1907. The survey recorded it as an outstanding example of a one-story, center-passage dwelling, and its architecture is the basis for its listing. It remains a residence in a neighborhood between the old depot and the central business district.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"I-house plan with some Greek Revival detailing","criteria":[],"status_note":"Present condition listed as good-fair; present use is residential.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:21.397713-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/70/9703/40970370/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/86002562.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40970370","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110002425"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/victoria-county/house-at-604-east-santa-rosa-86002562/"}
