It follows a vernacular T-plan and sits on an entire block near a bluff overlooking the San Gabriel River Valley, in a neighborhood northeast of downtown made up mostly of early twentieth-century houses. The walls are covered in weatherboard siding under a gable roof with bargeboards at the gable ends, and louvered attic vents carry pediment crowns. Windows are wood sash, double-hung, with crown molding on the facings. A one-story porch with a hip roof and Doric columns wraps the front projecting ell, and doors open on the east and west sides of that wing. The facade is symmetrical. The house was listed for its architecture, as a good example of a late nineteenth century dwelling with Victorian details and a T-plan. Additions have altered it, but it was recorded in good condition and remains in residential use.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Marshall E.
