It was the home of early builder Moses Harrell, who was connected with the Whittle and Harrell Lumber Co. and later the Belford Lumber Co.","narrative":"Built around 1885 at 1001 Church Street in Georgetown, this two-story wood-frame house follows a modified L plan and reflects late nineteenth-century vernacular building in the town. It has weatherboard siding, a gable roof, a molded cornice, bargeboard at the gable ends, and wood-sash double-hung windows. A one-story porch with Doric columns shelters the front entrance, and a five-sided bay projects from the north ell. The rear door has etched glass bearing the name \"M. Harrell.\" The house was the home of Moses Harrell, an early builder who worked with J. W. Whittle in the Whittle and Harrell Lumber Co., located at Timber and Locust streets. Harrell later left that firm and, with C. S. Belford, bought the Irvine Lumber Co. in 1890, which became the Belford Lumber Co. The house was recognized for its architecture and its link to Harrell. A 1984 survey recorded it as vacant and in fair condition, within a residential area south of the central business district.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Whittle & Harrell?","architectural_style":"Vernacular","criteria":[],"status_note":"Listed as vacant, in fair condition, at the time of the 1984 survey.","vacant_flag":true,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:21.622852-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/71/9708/40970871/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/86000169.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40970871","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110000528"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/williamson-county/harrell-moses-house-86000169/"}
