It is a well-crafted Tudor Revival dwelling with half-timbering, steeply pitched gables, casement windows and decorative wooden trim. It also keeps the hallmarks of local residences: a large main house, a landscaped lot, a scenic view and a complementary period outbuilding.","narrative":"Set on a one-acre lot along Bay Avenue in the village of Huntington Bay, this rambling two-and-one-half story house dates to about 1890. It is a Tudor Revival residence with a shingled first floor, a stucco and half-timbered second floor, a stone and brick foundation, and three projecting gabled pavilions with trusswork on the south facade. Leaded casement windows, exposed rafter ends and gabled porches with half-timbering add to its picturesque character. West of the house stands the original shingled garage and servants' quarters, which also contributes to the property. The house represents the large homes built for wealthy owners as Huntington's north shore became a popular summer resort between 1880 and 1920. Its spacious lot, scenic setting and period outbuilding reflect the typical pattern of the area, and the property remains largely intact in both setting and architectural detail. Architect and builder are unknown.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Tudor Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Described as in excellent condition, on its original site, with no known threats; in use as a residence.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:50:45.073614-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/85002535.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75314799","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_at_200_Bay_Avenue","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q5914070"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/suffolk-county/house-at-200-bay-avenue-85002535/"}
