It shows Tudor Revival features such as stucco and half-timbering, varied fenestration, decorative wood trim and many porches. It was designed by locally prominent architect Harry E. Donnell as his own family home.","narrative":"Built in 1902-03 on Eaton's Neck, a peninsula separating Northport Bay from Long Island Sound, this shingled Tudor Revival house was designed by architect Harry E. Donnell as a home for his own family. It has two and one-half stories, a T-shaped plan, a steeply pitched gable roof and multiple cross-gables with stuccoed, half-timbered ends, broad vergeboards and brackets. The facade features two-story bay windows, balconied sleeping porches and an open verandah. The property also holds a circa 1930 shed and a three-car garage that echo the main house, along with a modern horse barn that does not contribute. The house is valued as a representative example of the large residences built for wealthy owners along Huntington's north shore around 1900, when scenic views and undeveloped shoreline attracted contractors and affluent buyers. Donnell, a member of the Society of Beaux-Arts Architects, also designed a similar house for his in-laws in Asharoken.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Architect: Harry E.
