It is finished in novelty siding, with wide cornerboards topped by crude pilasters on the north and south wings. Two-over-two sash windows carry simple drip molds, and the gables are decorated with fish-scale shingles and bargeboard. The east gable has a single-pane diamond window, and turned porch columns are bracketed with turned spindles. A wraparound porch covers the east wing, while the original northwest and southwest porches have been enclosed, one as a screened porch. Little is known about the first owners. The house takes its name from later occupants. D. M. Angle bought it in 1909; he farmed and ran a general merchandise store on the square. It was sold to Nina Potter in 1934, and the Potters operated a grocery on the square. It is recognized as the city's most elaborate Victorian-era cottage.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Victorian-era","criteria":[],"status_note":null,"vacant_flag":null,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:21.018954-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/90/9686/40968690/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/85000710.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/85000710/c1d0d911ff-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/85000710/c1d0d911ff-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 3.0","author":"Renelibrary","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DMAngle3.JPG\" rel=\"noopener\">Renelibrary</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DMAngle3.JPG"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40968690","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110001826"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/dallas-county/angle-d-m-house-85000710/"}
