Potter and one of six remaining Potter houses in the city. It shows his move from Queen Anne influences to a fully developed Colonial Revival design, and it was the earliest Colonial Revival building on upper Glen Street.","narrative":"Built around 1910-1911 at 528 Glen Street in Glens Falls, this square, two-story frame house is a Colonial Revival residence designed by local architect Ephraim B. Potter for Martin L.C. Wilmarth, a prominent manufacturer of fine furniture and wallpaper. It has narrow clapboard siding over a rock-faced limestone foundation, a truncated hipped roof with a decorative balustrade, pedimented dormers, and a central pavilion framed by tall Corinthian pilasters. A wide porch with turned columns runs across the front, and a tripartite window sits above the entrance. A one-and-one-half-story frame carriage house of the same date stands at the rear of the property. The house is the only surviving Colonial Revival home in the city by Potter, one of six of his residences that remain, and it is considered his most mature residential design. It was also the first Colonial Revival building on upper Glen Street, then becoming a fashionable neighborhood.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Architect: Ephraim B.
