Parry, this 2½-story frame house at 146 Warren Street in Glens Falls combines Queen Anne and Colonial Revival elements. It rests on a random ashlar limestone foundation, with narrow clapboards on the first story and shingles above. A broad, bracketed one-story porch with a pediment spans the south front, and a jerkin head roof is broken by patterned-shingle dormers. Bay windows, large consoles, exposed rafters, turned balustrades and a massive brick center chimney add to the exterior. Architect Ephraim B. Potter (1855-1925), one of the most prolific designers in Glens Falls during its period of greatest wealth and growth, produced this as his earliest documented residence in the city. He experimented here with contrasting textures of stone, clapboard and shingle, and later worked these ideas into other houses. It is one of eighteen documented Potter works that survive intact in the city. The house still serves as a residence with first-floor office space.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Ephraim B.
