It also represents the work of master carpenter Alexander Delos \"Boss\" Jones, who built it for his wife's brother. The largely intact nineteenth-century outbuildings and historic farm setting add to its significance.","narrative":"Set on a hilltop farm of 122.5 acres at the end of Gamsey Road in Duanesburg, this clapboarded farmhouse dates to about 1850 and shows the Greek Revival style at a mature stage. The two-story, T-shaped frame house has its gable end facing the road, a wide entablature, pronounced cornice returns, broad corner pilasters, and a three-bay front with a trabeated central entrance. One-story wings flank the main block, and a longer wing extends to the rear. Inside are shouldered and battered window surrounds and a stair with turned balusters. Master carpenter Alexander Delos \"Boss\" Jones built it for his wife's brother, Alexander Liddle, and it is one of several Jones houses in western Duanesburg. An L-shaped nineteenth-century barn and an early twentieth-century garage also contribute. The whole farm was included because the land still reflects its agricultural use. Some 1940s changes, including fieldstone chimneys, are noted.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Alexander Delos (Boss) Jones","architectural_style":"Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Still in residential use, as it was originally; condition rated good.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:50:43.472795-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/84003256.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75314568","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Liddle_Farmhouse","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4719404"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/schenectady-county/liddle-alexander-farmhouse-84003256/"}
