It includes a farmhouse built about 1850, a tenant house and a barn complex.","why_significant":"The farm is argued to be a representative mid-nineteenth century rural farmstead in Duanesburg. Its farmhouse is a vernacular Greek Revival dwelling with an unusual three-bay side-hall plan whose gable end does not face the road. The rear wing is one of the few eighteenth-century buildings in the town. The intact nineteenth-century outbuildings and the historic farm setting add to its importance.","narrative":"Set on 177 acres along Eaton Corners Road in the town of Duanesburg, this farm complex centers on a two-story, three-bay clapboard farmhouse built about 1850. The house shows vernacular Greek Revival detailing, including a wide frieze, prominent cornice returns, fluted corner pilasters and an entrance with sidelights and a transom. Its three-bay side-hall plan, with the gable end turned away from the road, is unusual locally and is sometimes called a \"two-thirds\" house. A one-and-one-half story rear wing dates from the late eighteenth century and may have been built shortly after 1785, when the farm was leased to Ephraim Eaton. A tenant house and a group of frame barns survive from the nineteenth century, while a large modern barn complex does not contribute. The farm was owned by Thomas Liddle, one of twelve children of Robert Liddle, and is one of only three Liddle properties in the town to retain integrity.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Vernacular Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Described as in excellent condition, with original site retained, in residential use, and with no known threats. Modern picture windows have compromised the rear wing.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:50:42.952311-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/84003247.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75314566","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Liddle_Farm_Complex","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7791852"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/schenectady-county/liddle-thomas-farm-complex-84003247/"}
