It has a wide frieze pierced by eyebrow windows, pronounced cornice returns and prominent corner pilasters. Unlike most local Greek Revival houses, which are two stories, it is one of only a few one and one-half story examples with small windows in the frieze.","narrative":"Set on a one-acre lot along Hardin Road, an isolated rural road east of Bramans Corners in Duanesburg, this farmhouse dates to about 1839. It is a rectangular, one and one-half story frame dwelling with a gable roof and a shed-roofed wing at the rear. Greek Revival details include exaggerated cornice returns, broad corner pilasters, and a wide frieze pierced by rectangular eyebrow windows. The deeply recessed central doorway has sidelights and is framed by wide pilasters and a full entablature. Windows hold 6/6 double-hung sash with simple wooden trim. Many Greek Revival houses in Duanesburg are two stories and five bays wide, so this smaller house with small windows in the frieze is among only a few of its kind. The house is believed to have been built by Elnathan Abrams, a native of Florida, New York, who settled in Duanesburg in 1839. The original farm setting has been lost, and only a small non-contributing shed stands behind the house.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Architect and builder unknown; believed to have been built by Elnathan Abrams","architectural_style":"Vernacular Greek Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Used as a private residence, in excellent condition; the historic farm setting no longer survives intact.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:50:41.800609-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_NY/84003092.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/75314590","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abrahams_Farmhouse","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4669308"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/new-york/schenectady-county/abrahams-farmhouse-84003092/"}
