It has board and batten siding, a hipped roof with a prominent front cross gable, broadly projecting eaves on large wooden brackets, and drip molds over most windows. A Colonial Revival porch with Doric columns was added in the early twentieth century, and a modern two-story wing extends from the rear. Inside, an open string stairway with a turned balustrade, plank floors, and paneled doors with porcelain knobs survive. The house was built as a wedding gift for Gideon Granger II, grandson of Gideon Granger, and his wife Isaphine Pierson. After his death in 1868, his widow and two daughters lived there until 1906, when the daughters moved to the Granger Homestead. The cottage was moved in 1907. It remains one of only two distinctive picturesque Gothic residences in the community and is still a private home.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Gothic Revival","criteria":[],"status_note":"Used as a residence, in good condition; moved around 1907 and no threats known.
