The form cites criterion C.","narrative":"Located at 357 Williams Street in Stoneham, this clapboard house now appears as a large, two-story, three-bay Italianate residence. Tradition dates it to 1712, a date that may refer to the one-story, slate-roofed ell on the west side or to a heavily rebuilt inner core. Originally it had four rooms around a huge central chimney. The Richardson family arrived from Woburn in 1787 and built three houses on the property, and the roof was later rebuilt as a hipped roof with two chimneys. In the mid-nineteenth century, Micah Williams, a prosperous farmer, remodeled the house in the fashionable Italianate manner, adding a projecting, enclosed two-story entrance porch, segmented-arch windows and diamond-pane sidelights. The remodeling reflects Stoneham's general prosperity at that time. An early twentieth-century owner brought in a Scottish gardener who planted many unusual trees. Most of the original hundred-acre site has since been subdivided.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Architect unknown; original house built ca. 1712 by an early Stoneham settler; remodeled by owner Micah Williams","architectural_style":"Georgian house with Italianate facade (ca. 1850)","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Present use is residential; most of the original hundred-acre site has been subdivided.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:11:56.212668-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/48/7910/63791048/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/84002853.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002853/bd106c30c4-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002853/bd106c30c4-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Unknown authorUnknown author","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WilliamsLinscottHouse.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Unknown authorUnknown author</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WilliamsLinscottHouse.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63791048","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williams%E2%80%93Linscott_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q8020961"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/middlesex-county/williams-linscott-house-84002853/"}
