One-story ells extend from the rear corners. It rests on a granite foundation and has clapboard siding, a boxed cornice, simple corner boards and slightly projecting window architraves. The entry is framed by strip pilasters, a wide frieze board and a projecting lintel. The house faces south with its east end to Perkins Street, once called Green Lane, where several Green family houses stood. It is one of only two Stoneham buildings keeping a nearly intact early eighteenth-century form. It is also linked to a founding family. Jonathan Green came from Malden, and the homestead was occupied in each generation by a Jonathan Green. His son, Captain Jonathan Green (1719-1795), served as town clerk and treasurer and as a delegate to the conventions of 1786 and 1788.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Colonial Vernacular","criteria":["B","C"],"status_note":"Present use is residential; no major alterations or moves are recorded.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:11:57.404786-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/1/7923/63792301/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/84002627.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002627/da71b609a0-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002627/da71b609a0-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY-SA 4.0","author":"User:Magicpiano","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:StonehamMA_JonathanGreenHouse.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">User:Magicpiano</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY-SA 4.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:StonehamMA_JonathanGreenHouse.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63792301","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Green_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q6273261"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/middlesex-county/green-jonathan-house-84002627/"}
