It is in a mixed residential and commercial setting.","why_significant":"It is described as one of the best detailed late Greek Revival/early Italianate houses in Stoneham, with high-quality architectural design. It is also associated with William Griffin Fuller, a local leather and real estate businessman and savings bank trustee. It is argued to meet criteria A, B and C.","narrative":"Built around 1850 at 32 Franklin Street in Stoneham, this two-story house combines Greek Revival and Italianate details on a traditional five-bay, center-entry plan. A bracketed, slate-clad pitched roof, windows with projecting lintels and 6/6 sash, glazed double doors at the entrance and a one-story Ionic porch across the facade are its main features. Vinyl siding was added around 1980, yet most original features remain, and the property keeps its integrity of location, design, setting, materials and workmanship. In 1939 a smaller three-bay replica was built to the west, and a one-story walkway now links the two buildings. The house is also tied to William Griffin Fuller, born in 1810, who worked in the leather and real estate businesses and served as a trustee of the Stoneham Five Cents Savings Bank. It is regarded as one of the best detailed late Greek Revival and early Italianate houses in the town, and it is now a nursing home.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival/Italianate transitional","criteria":["A","B","C"],"status_note":"Presently used as a nursing home; in good exterior condition, with vinyl siding added about 1980 and a three-bay replica built to the west in 1939 and joined by a walkway.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:11:57.578885-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/62/7921/63792162/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/84002621.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002621/605bdade99-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002621/605bdade99-1600.webp","licence":"CC BY 3.0","author":"John Phelan","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:William_Griffin_Fuller_House,_Stoneham_MA.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">John Phelan</a>, <a href=\"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0\" rel=\"license noopener\">CC BY 3.0</a>, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:William_Griffin_Fuller_House,_Stoneham_MA.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63792162","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Griffin_Fuller_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q8010216"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/middlesex-county/fuller-william-griffin-house-84002621/"}
