It is built of cast stone and concrete block, one of few such examples in the town. It is a well preserved example of concrete products in residential construction and reflects Methuen's major period of early 20th century residential development.","narrative":"Set on about 1.43 acres along Pelham Street in a rural residential part of Methuen, this square-plan house dates from around 1920 and now serves as two private residences. Its architect is unknown. The design follows the late Georgian Revival style, with a central entry, a hipped roof, and six rectangular windows on each side, each trimmed with cornice lintels and quoins. A full porch is carried by fourteen rusticated Ionic columns, although the balustrade on the veranda has been removed. The walls are cast stone and concrete block, a material choice found in few other Methuen buildings. The house was listed for its architecture. It is regarded as a well preserved example of concrete products used in home building, with integrity of location, design, setting, materials and workmanship. It also reflects the period of early 20th century residential growth that shaped much of Methuen.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Georgian Revival","criteria":["C"],"status_note":"Used as two private residences, the same as its original use; the veranda balustrade has been removed.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:11:56.558592-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/82/7900/63790082/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_MA/84002390.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002390/ef99225487-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84002390/ef99225487-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"EraserGirl","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_262-264_Pelham_Street.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">EraserGirl</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:House_at_262-264_Pelham_Street.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63790082","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_at_262%E2%80%93264_Pelham_Street","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q14715578"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/massachusetts/essex-county/house-at-262-264-pelham-street-84002390/"}
