It is more elaborate than the simpler houses of similar shape along the old Lebanon and Xenia Pike, many of which have been severely altered.","narrative":"This brick house at 342 Columbus Avenue in Lebanon, Ohio, dates to about 1850 and combines Greek Revival and Italianate design. It has four bays across the front, a gable roof with asphalt shingles, a stone foundation and common bond brick walls. The entrance sits at one end of the facade, with double round-arched windows in the door. A full-width porch has turned posts and balusters, and the second-floor windows have plain stone lintels. A small brick lean-to and a frame addition are at the rear. The house appears on an 1854 map of Lebanon. Gustus and Mienne Mohrman bought the property in 1864 from a land speculator, Ebed Stowell, who had acquired it in 1848 from James Clark, Jr. It lies along the old Lebanon and Xenia Pike, where neighbouring houses share its wide gabled shape but are simpler and often heavily altered. The house was valued for its relatively unaltered design, and the exterior is in excellent condition. It now serves as a church.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":"Greek Revival/Italianate","criteria":[],"status_note":"Present use is a church; exterior condition is listed as excellent.","vacant_flag":false,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:53:14.55545-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/lz/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_OH/84000433.pdf"},"photo":{"url_800":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84000433/fdcffbfd9d-800.webp","url_1600":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/media/84000433/fdcffbfd9d-1600.webp","licence":"Public domain","author":"Nyttend","credit_html":"<a href=\"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mohrman-Jack-Evans_House.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\">Nyttend</a>, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons","source_page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mohrman-Jack-Evans_House.jpg"},"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/71986378","wikipedia":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohrman-Jack-Evans_House","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q6894352"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/ohio/warren-county/mohrman-jack-evans-house-84000433/"}
