It still has its original wood-shingle roof and many original wooden fixtures. It is part of the Norwegian Settlement of Bosque County thematic group.","narrative":"This small limestone house stands north of an unpaved county road near the base of Gary Mountain, southwest of Clifton in Bosque County, Texas. It is thought to have been built by Hans and Berthe Reierson soon after they arrived in the county, in 1871 and 1872 respectively. The rectangular building has an off-center entrance under a large stone lintel and small window openings in the east and west end walls. A later stone lean-to across the rear has a brick chimney, and small frame additions sit on the front and west sides. Both roofs still carry their original cedar shingles. A cistern behind the house contributes to the property's historic character. Although the original doors and window sashes are gone, the house has been altered very little since about 1900 and keeps many original wooden fixtures. It has been unoccupied and used for storage since 1911. A 1920s bungalow nearby is outside the nominated area.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"Presumably built by Hans and Berthe Reierson","architectural_style":null,"criteria":[],"status_note":"Unoccupied and in stable, good condition; used for storage since 1911.","vacant_flag":true,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:18.918167-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/89/9683/40968389/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/83003121.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40968389","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110001636"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/bosque-county/reierson-hans-and-berthe-house-83003121/"}
