Lahlum house is a small one-story farmhouse of board-and-batten construction. It was moved in 1893 to its present spot on the west bank of Neils Creek, about one-third mile south of its first site, after a new house was built on the original location. The house began with a T-shaped plan, and a rear section added in 1893 gave it an H-shaped footprint. Small shed-roof porches cover the single doors on the east and south sides, a brick chimney rises through the intersecting gable roof, and the windows are double hung with four-over-four lights. The construction date is unknown, but the house was probably built in the 1880s, making it one of the oldest frame houses in the Norwegian settlement. Its board-and-batten construction is rare among late 19th-century residences in the area, which is the basis for its listing. It is now used for storage and stands in fair condition.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":null,"architectural_style":null,"criteria":[],"status_note":"Presently used for storage and described as unoccupied; the structure remains in fair condition, with deteriorated composition roof shingles.","vacant_flag":true,"machine_generated":true,"model":"claude-sonnet-5-5","prompt_version":"v1.0-2026-10-29","generated_at":"2026-10-29 02:54:18.94956-05","source_pdf":"https://s3.amazonaws.com/NARAprodstorage/opastorage/live/73/9683/40968373/content/electronic-records/rg-079/NPS_TX/83003110.pdf"},"photo":null,"district":null,"sources":{"nps_snapshot_date":"2026-05-22","nara_catalog":"https://catalog.archives.gov/id/40968373","wikipedia":null,"wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110001655"},"indexable":true,"url":"https://nationalhistoricalregister.com/texas/bosque-county/lahlum-a-h-house-83003110/"}
