M. J. Becker served as designing engineer, and J. R. Ferguson and Charles Daugherty were the builders. The building measures about 75 by 27 feet and rests on a limestone foundation raised to just below the first-story windows. Newspaper accounts of the period described Zanesville press brick with Berea stone trim, laid with black mortar and decorated with courses of black brick. Window and door openings are trabeated. The eaves project beyond the walls and are partly supported by brick brackets. A canopy once sheltered the passenger platform, and a bay about five feet deep projects from the east side so railroad personnel had an unobstructed view of the tracks. The depot was nominated with other Zanesville railroad stations and freight houses as a thematic group. The form describes the building as altered but on its original site, in good to fair condition.","period_of_significance":null,"architect_builder":"M. J. Becker, designing engineer; J. R.
